Sharp has joined the international initiative "RE100" (Renewable Energy 100), which aims to utilize 100% renewable energy in its operations. The company aims to achieve 100% renewable energy use for its business activities by 2030.
Sharp has established a long-term environmental vision, "SHARP Eco Vision 2050," which targets net-zero CO2 emissions for its operations by 2030 and net-zero CO2 emissions across its entire supply chain by 2050. In recent years, the company has been accelerating its efforts by promoting the adoption of solar power systems, particularly in production bases in China and Southeast Asia.
By participating in "RE100", Sharp will actively promote the introduction of renewable energy at its business locations while also contributing to the broader adoption of renewable energy in society through its energy solutions business, thereby contributing in the realization of a decarbonized society.
In addition to efforts to reduce environmental impact, Sharp will continue to create valuable products and services that contribute to society, challenging itself to realize a better future.
This membership was made possible with the support of the Japan Climate Leaders’ Partnership (JCLP), a corporate group aiming for a sustainable decarbonized society.
