Sharp commits to membership of the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA)

Sharp Corporation announced that the company has committed to membership of the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA).

The RBA is a non-profit organization supporting the rights and well-being of workers and communities worldwide affected by the global supply chain. Founded in 2004 as the Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC) by a group of leading electronics companies, the RBA has expanded to include companies around the world in such industries as electronics, retail, auto and toys.
As a member of the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA), Sharp fully supports the vision and goals of the RBA:

Vision A global electronics industry that creates sustainable value for workers, the environment and business.
Mission Members, suppliers and stakeholders collaborate to improve working and environmental conditions through leading standards and practices.

As stated in the words of Sharp’s business philosophy “contributing to the culture, benefits and welfare of people throughout the world” and“our future prosperity is directly linked to the prosperity of our customers, dealers and shareholders,” Sharp has always strived for mutual prosperity with society and stakeholders, ever since its founding.
In addition, toward the realization of a sustainable society, Sharp is accelerating its efforts of reducing the social and environmental toll of its business activities and creating solutions to social problems through business and technological innovation with its medium-to long-term vision of contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Through joining the RBA, Sharp will continue to strengthen its efforts to address the environment and human rights issues in the global supply chain, and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.
